Artist Statement

I work through sculpture, drawing, installation, and language. Using wood, paper, handwritten text, resin, and found or encountered materials, I build monuments, drawers, and hollow forms.

My work often begins with things I encounter, keep, or cannot discard—fragments of language, found objects, addresses, numbers, stains, and other things I have been unable to leave behind. I am interested in the weight and intensity that certain objects, fragments, and encounters acquire within a single life. Through collecting, preserving, and rearranging these elements, I develop forms in which disparate materials, objects, and fragments resolve into a whole.

Drawing and handwritten language share the same material logic in my work. Both are shaped through placement, proportion, weight, and surface. Words carry meaning, but they also occupy space. Language and material move in parallel, without one explaining the other.

Alongside these constructed surfaces, stains, overflow, worn edges, fingerprints, and mistakes remain as evidence of contact, use, and repetition. I treat material as something that records presence.
